Isle Access Trustees

Isle Access has elected Trustees who help the CEO to guide the charity’s work.

Charities are required by law to have Trustees with responsibilities to oversee and guide operations. In our case, we think it makes sense to have Trustees who have life experience of disability so their plans are relevant to the Charity’s Objects. Currently, most of our Trustees have physical or hidden disabilities and another one would say they have at least one family member with a disability.

We currently have seven Trustees – 4 are male and 3 are female.

The Trustees meet every 3 months. They discuss the current projects to ‘champion access for all’, plans for future projects and events and guide all aspects of the charities work.

Support Isle Access

We are always looking for new volunteers, trustees and people that can support fundraising efforts.

My name is Laura Curwood and I have the privilege of being the Isle of Wight's first ever para triathlete and Patron for Isle Access!

Before I became a chair user I was a keen cyclist and after being introduced to para friendly cycling by Isle Access, I fell in love with it all over again. Ultimately, I hope to use my ambassador status to create a sporting event on the Island that is exclusive to athletes with various disabilities.
