Isle Access

Cycling for WellBeing Project

What is Cycling for Wellbeing?

Isle Access believe that cycling can improve people’s mental and physical wellbeing.

Recent scientific studies have proved exactly that!

Cycling increases our ‘feel good’ hormones, reducing anxiety and depression, improving our general fitness and it makes us smile.

Isle Access makes cycling more accessible for people of all ages and abilities.

What does Isle Access offer?

For standard bikes we offer outdoor rides, primarily in traffic-free zones where possible.

  • Rusty Riders,
  • Confidence Builders,
  • Learn to Ride,
  • Family Rides,
  • Balance Biking,
  • Weight Loss and Fitness,
  • Healthy Heads.

Call the Cycling Team and tell us what you would like and we will try to accommodate.

Our Adapted Bike Sessions include:

  • a wheelchair carrier,
  • hand cycles,
  • trikes,
  • tandems,
  • and others that can help those with disabilities.

We run group sessions in a safe supervised environment.  Currently we’re indoors so no nasty weather to worry about, but we will be running some outdoor sessions in the future.

Who are the The Cycling Team?

The team is headed by Lyn who has many years of cycling experience.  Not the speedy, lycra-clad kind of riding, but educational, patient, understanding.  Lyn has helped many people onto bikes over the years, from toddlers to oldies.  New cyclists, returning cyclists, those that have lost confidence for whatever reason.

Qualified Bikeability Instructor and British Cycling Ride Leader, Lyn comes from working with local authorities in Berks and Oxon, and is now here on the Island looking forward to meeting you.  Lyn is assisted by Helen and Arron and other enthusiastic volunteers all here to help you with your cycling needs.

Please call Lyn to discuss your cycling requirements (or if you’d like to volunteer) on 07784 655252.

Can You Get Involved?
