Fiona has lived on the Island since 1964 having moved from London. She joined NatWest Bank in 1978 on the Island; transferring to Portsmouth in 1986 where she was the small business accounts manager. She was seconded to Business Link in Newport for two years, which led her to set up a Limited Company in 1997 offering business training and counselling backed by European Funding together with private contracts.
She now operates as a partnership with her husband and works closely with the IW Chamber of Commerce. This involves assisting businesses in preparing their Business plans and finances for IW Lottery Loan applications in addition to delivering a monthly workshop covering all aspects of starting a business. On behalf of the IW Chamber of Commerce she has delivered the Isle Work project assisting 18-24 year olds into self-employment, worked with two groups of students at Sandown Bay Academy developing life and work skills and is currently delivering the Start Me Up 50+ programme working with anyone over the age of 50 who wishes to explore self-employment.
As well as various Banking exams Fiona holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management and is SFEDI accredited.
Fiona is very pleased to be a part of the Isle Access team, having seen it grow from a CIC to a registered Charity she is looking forward to sharing her knowledge and spreading the word amongst the small business community, helping to ensure that the Island becomes accessible to all.
