Free exhibition to explore!
Isle Access will be hosting their third Accessible Activities and Services Day which will be held at West Wight Sport and Community Centre on Saturday 11th September 2021, 10:30-15:30.
Join us for a Day Of Discovery!
This event is a great opportunity for Island residents and visitors to find out more about the wide range of activities and services that are available for adults and children with disabilities.
Start the day with a session of Boccia
This is a sport designed to be inclusive and fun for everyone. It is similar to Boule (Petanque) and can be played by individuals, pairs, or teams of three.
All events are mixed gender and in 1984 it became a Paralympic sport. The aim of the game is to throw leather balls — teams have red or blue ones as close as they can to a white target ball, or jack.
The session will run between 10:30 – 12:30.
Then try adapted cycling
Isle Access’s monthly adapted cycle session will run between 12:30 – 15:30. With their increasing fleet of bikes, they hope there is something suitable for everyone’s ability.
To ensure a place on one of their bikes, please book via www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/161608733071.
Explore the wide choice of activities
Joining Isle access for the day are up to 15 charities and organisations. They will have staff at their stands throughout the day to share information about what they have to offer, and to answer any questions that you have.

During the afternoon…

And to finish the day off
West Wight Sports and Community Centre’s swimming pool will be available. The swimming pool is fully accessible with two poolside hoists for assistance into the pool, as well as a mobile hoist which can be used with your own sling.
Please note: The pool is limited to 20 swimmers and will run on a first come, first served basis.
